GoDaddy: Developments in the Law of Domains
We will be discussing recent updates in domain law, especially as they relate to the use of trademarks in domain names.  Our discussion will focus primarily on the recent landmark case AMPAS v. GoDaddy.  The discussion will also touch on the 9th Circuit’s decision in Petronas v. GoDaddy, and will give some thought to future areas of litigation; e.g., private registration.

Potential Questions:

1.       As a registrant, am I now safe to register domains with trademarks?

2.       Why is GoDaddy involved in so many of these cases?
